I'm as excited as a very excited person, who has a very special reason to be excited
So I am thinking about trying lazer hair removal. I have heard the ads for Ideal Image on the radio and the idea of permanent hair removal sounds great. What I wanted to know was a) how much does it cost? b)how much does it hurt? and c) is it really permanent? I made an inquiry at their website and received a response today. Here's what I found out:
A) The cost for an upper lip treatment (that is my most hated area): $360. This includes all five lazer sessions as well as a year of touch ups, if needed, and a lifetime guarantee. At first that sounded like a lot, but then I did the math. $360 is about two years worth of waxes. So I am going to spend that anyway and then some on waxing, where as if this is really permanent like they say, I'm done after the $360. Something to think about anyway.
B) Their site says that the lazer is likened to the feeling of someone snapping a rubber band on your skin. Ow. I don't really like the sound of that. Although waxing hurts like a bitch too. And they can give me a topical cream that will numb the area a bit during the treatment. They take about 10 minutes each session. I may just be willing to go through that 5 times if it means no more flippin moustache to deal with.
I need to set up a consultation to talk about their 'guarantee' on being permanent. If it really is, then I'm all for giving it a try. I'm sick of wasting time and money (and going through the pain) of plucking and waxing. They say that dark hair has the best results, and my hair is about as dark as it gets. I'm really only interested in doing bits of my face like eyebrows and upper lip and such. I'm not going to bother with the legs or anything. I mean, if the lip area is $360, I can't imagine what a whole leg would cost. My electric razor makes doing the legs a breeze. Although they are advertising a free underarm treatment with any other treatment. Ow...rubber bands snapped in my armpits. Hmm...even for free I might have to think about that one.
I will set up the consultation and talk to these folks and see how I feel about it and how much they stand behind their promise of permanent hair removal. I wish I could talk to some actual people who've had it done. I am just really tired of dealing with it. I know, it's vein and trivial, but I'm from European/Middle Eastern decent...we're hairy people. All my aunts have little wispy beards and full blown moustaches and unibrows. I don't really like the idea of turning into that, but it's already starting. Damn heredity. The idea that maybe I can zap it away it really exciting to me. Hey..some women get breast implants to feel sexy. All I am asking for is not to have a moustache. :)
